If you still need to find one, our in-house realty team has extensive experience in the Austin market, from navigating city regulations to spotting properties with the right potential and value. And if you already have a realtor, we’ll work alongside them to help identify the right lot for your home.

When it comes to design, you can work with our trusted architects and interior designers or bring your own. Either way, we’ll collaborate closely with them to keep everything aligned. Our role is to guide the process, coordinate the details, and manage the entire project so you don’t have to.

Phase 1: Plan & Prepare

Vision & Priorities
First, we understand your big picture and begin translating your ideas into a real plan. We’ll clarify your lifestyle needs, architectural preferences, space requirements, and long-term goals so we can design a home that reflects how you want to live.

Custom Planning
We don’t build from templates. Instead, we help you design a layout that supports the flow and function of your daily life. Want to prioritize a larger kitchen, a detached casita, a bigger garage, or an outdoor living space? We’ll guide you in aligning your investment with what matters most to you and your family.

Lot Acquisition & Financing
We can help you secure the right lot or move forward with one you already own. We’ll walk you through lot evaluation, contract details, and construction loan options so everything is lined up before architectural plans begin.

Phase 2: Design & Finalize

Architecture
You may bring your own architect, or choose one of our preferred partners. Together, we finalize floor plans and delivery schedules aligned with your budget and vision.

Interior Design
Work with an interior designer to bring your vision to life. You choose the finishes and features that reflect your style, while your designer simplifies the process and keeps everything on budget and on track.

Permitting
While design selections are underway, we begin managing the permitting process behind the scenes. This allows us to keep the build moving forward without unnecessary delays.

Final Review and Prep
Before we break ground, we’ll walk through your full plan together: design selections, budget, and construction timeline to ensure everything is aligned.

Phase 3: Build & Move In

Construction
Once the design, plans, and selections are finalized, it's time to bring your home to life.

Throughout the entire build, we guide you step by step and maintain close oversight to ensure progress stays on track and quality standards are met at every stage. You’ll have full transparency along the way with access to our project management software, photo updates, clear timelines, and direct communication with our team. Have a question? Certificate of Occupancy
Once construction is complete, the city performs a final inspection and issues your Certificate of Occupancy. At this point, your home is officially approved for move-in.

Final Walkthrough
We walk through the home with you to review systems, identify any final touch-ups, and go over the operating instructions and warranty coverage.

Move-In
Congratulations, your home is ready. We’ll hand over the keys and stay available to answer questions and support a smooth transition into your new space.

  • The cost of a custom home depends on size, style, and the level of finishes you choose. Here’s a general guide:

    Entry-Level Custom Homes: $225+ per square foot
    A solid option for those wanting a quality custom home with thoughtful layouts and reliable materials, tailored to your lifestyle without unnecessary extras.

    Mid-Range Custom Homes: $300 to $450+ per square foot
    Fully custom homes designed around your preferences. These feature upgraded finishes, personalized floor plans, and higher-end materials that balance comfort, style, and value.

    Luxury Custom Homes: $500 to $1,500+ per square foot
    High-end projects with premium materials, expansive layouts, and one-of-a-kind architectural details. Includes top-tier finishes, appliances, and bespoke design elements.

    Every project is unique, and costs depend on your vision and the site you’re building on. During your consultation, we’ll walk you through realistic budgets and options for your specific home.

  • Mission Home Builders has several banking relationships that can be a great source for financing your home. There are a few options depending on your construction timeline and all will be discussed prior to execution. For budgeting purposes, plan on a down payment of about 25% of the total project cost (lot and construction).

  • Yes! Mission Home Builders stands behind our work and will provide a comprehensive third-party warranty to cover the structure of your home and all systems. All appliances and major components (HVAC, tankless water heaters, etc.) will be brand new and have manufacturer warranties that can be registered.

  • Absolutely. At Mission Home Builders, we believe you should feel connected to your home every step of the way.

    • You’ll have access to our in-house software where you can check progress, view photos, and see upcoming milestones at any time.

    • Our team will personally touch base with you at least every other week to review what’s been completed and what’s ahead.

    • Have a question in between? You can reach out directly to our CEO or any member of our team.

    • And of course, you’re welcome to walk the site whenever you’d like. After all, it’s your home.
